I am a Speech-Language Pathologist for a low income elementary school, near a large military base.

I teach young elementary students, many of whom have autism and multiple disabilities. Let's make their speech time memorable! Children remember what they are learning when they are interested and having fun.

My Project

I'm requesting a small cordless bluetooth radio for my students. Music is a great tool to help teach students with Autism and other disabilities. I will be able to teach them different routine songs such as the hokey pokey, which help develop listening skills, imitation skills, and the ability to follow directions. Students will also be able to listen to different stories which correspond to our books. Music is also very helpful to provide a calming sensory break and create focus. I'm asking for a radio that runs off 18v batteries so that it will last all day on a charge and be portable to different locations.

I would like to thank you for contributing to my classroom.

As a SLP in a low income school, I am not provided with many supplies. A classroom teacher would be able to get supplies before a SLP. However, I provide therapy so that children do not fall behind in their classroom and can achieve future success. This is my third year teaching, and I have not yet built up my supplies. Thank you for contributing!
