This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students have the great opportunity to be in a 2nd Spanish Dual Immersion class. Being a Title I school, 80% of my students are in great need of learning to compensate of all their needs at home. Giving them the opportunity to learn two languages will provide them tools to be successful in life.
My students come form hard working families in a neighborhood with very low income levels.
I have a great diversity of students that creates a great learning atmosphere. We are very oriented to create students capable of being self thinkers and great leaders.
My Project
My students need 25 Seat Sacks for an easy way to store their books and materials. We are trying save as much time as possible. I have 45 students during the day. I spend half of the day with the first class and the other half with the other class. In three hours we have to learn our Math and Spanish literacy. Our math program has a lot of materials we need to use everyday and it will be very helpful to have them ready any time. This is why we would like to have seat pockets in our room. This would help us use our materials any time we need them and put them away fast. We only need 25 because we will share with both classes and we can keep using them every year.
Having our books and materials ready at our desks will help us be more efficient with our time.
A class can lose almost 30 minutes a day distributing material. We will be able to save hours and we will have more time to spend doing and having conversations in Spanish.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
