Help me give my students a printer. With a cost-effective color laser printer, teachers will have access to a resource that will help improve our school climate, showcase the achievements of our wonderful teachers and students, and much
My school is made up of a racially, economically, linguistically, and culturally-diverse group of elementary students who are passionate about using technology in the classroom and eager to have teachers who integrate technology effectively into their instruction.
Although my school is historically low-performing, the administration, staff, and students are committed to changing perceptions, breaking barriers, fostering growth, and achieving our goals.
With your help, we can continue our growth by fostering a professional environment of collaboration and learning in which teachers master the technological tools and strategies needed to help our students be successful. Unfortunately, my school is lacking tremendously in resources and funding, and we were provided with hardly any materials.
Although they live in one of the most exciting and progressive cities in the world, the overwhelming majority live in extreme poverty, and most receive free lunches. The one thing linking all my scholars together is a love for learning that has not yet been altered by the challenges facing them daily. I passionately want them to love school and be motivated to gain as much knowledge as possible, with their enthusiasm for school
My Project
Having a color printer will enable students and teachers take their unique project ideas and bring them to life! This printer would allow teachers to print high-quality color documents to increase student engagement, school community members to print items promote school-wide events, and students to make their projects stand out! Our current color printer is dated, frequently jams, and is unreliable. Having this new technology would ensure that items are printed promptly and correctly, wasting less time, toner, paper, and money! The students learn to create brochures, create posters with text & images, and write essays and poems. Learning these skills is very important and involves printing the project. The students love to display their work on bulletin boards, in the library, and around their classrooms. They feel a great sense of pride and accomplishment when they showcase their work for other students and visitors.
