My Students

My students are from a low income area. They strive to learn but cannot seem to focus on daily learning, due to other challenges going on in their lives. They have many things on their young minds besides education. Many of my students are dealing with custody issues and not knowing where their next meal is coming from. Several of my students receive Backpack Buddies in which they receive food to eat at home. For many, this is the only constant food supply they have.

My students want to feel loved and have some stability before they can even think about learning academically.

I want them to have a love for learning and put the things out of their control out of their young minds.

My Project

My students will be able to participate in class discussions using the Kleen Slate customizable dry erase boards. These boards have different templates that can be used throughout the school day in multiple subjects. I will be able to use these for formative assessments to see who has mastered the skill and who needs extra help.

The Kleen Slate dry erase board will serve many roles in helping my students learn.

They can be used in all subject areas including cursive handwriting. These dry erase boards will also help my students be engaged during lessons and get them excited to show what they know.
