Technology available to the classroom teacher is in short supply in our school complex. What we have must be shared equitably and therefore is likely to move to multiple locations during the school day.
Our library learning commons (which schedules the available technology) is rather unique in that it serves about 1400 students over three campuses, including a magnet IB school, a traditional high school, and a technical academy, which includes awesome Theatre, Finance, Engineering, Mechanical, and Visual Arts Academies.
We have an extremely diverse student body that moves in and out and around and among the three campuses all day taking the courses on their schedules.
Last spring we received a grant to fund 20 new Chromebooks for our students. The Chromebooks will allow teachers to offer more rigorous and challenging research and collaborative projects. However, we desperately need a charging cart to keep the Chromebooks safe, the batteries charged, and as a means to move them from classroom to classroom.
This charging cart will allow students in multiple classrooms to use the Chromebooks daily.
We will be able to move them safely and efficiently from place to place to meet the learning needs of all students.
