Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

My Students
I would like to start this by saying I have some amazing special education students. When they enter our room it's like entering a home because it's a safe space for them. They know that they are free to ask for anything reasonable they need because in our district some of our children lack basic needs.
Everyday our children are trying their best to meet the needs of our new normal and it's hard.
Right now the best part of their old school day is at home and that was snack time. 11:30 am was their favorite part of the day. They loved snack time because it was time to take a break, have a snack, and ask some of the most interesting yet random questions.
My Project
My students love snack time. It's their favorite time of day where we download the beginning half of the day over a snack. It's a time to ask silly questions while enjoying a much-needed snack before going to lunch a couple of hours later.
Having snack time also provided students with a way to have something before lunch when most either couldn't have or skipped breakfast.
My students will be extremely happy to receive these snacks because let's face it while dealing with these difficult times its nice to have a little treat.
