Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from various countries, Puerto Rico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Peru, Mexico, Honduras. Each one with their individuality but all are united by the Spanish language. All are students with a lot of desire to learn. They are very active and dynamic. As a bilingual teacher, I am focused on their love of reading in both English and Spanish.

In addition, they learn from each other by sharing their experiences and always working together.

I am very excited to have a rug with numbers, colors, and alphabet in both languages.

In this rug, we will meet every morning during the day to learn cooperatively and especially focus on reading in both languages to enrich their knowledge and make them lovers of books and reading.

My Project

We need a bilingual classroom carpet for us to use during our story, calendar, and whole group time. We love reading!! We are just asking for a rug for our classroom to use during our story time, calendar, and whole group lessons. My students really need a bilingual carpet to invite them to learn. We do read aloud, guided reading and promote reading all day. Most of our day on the floor and my students would love to have a comfortable space of their own while they take on the learning challenges of kindergarten. If you receive this donation, my students will have an inviting place to sit, enjoy and love reading.
