This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We have the most creative, respectful, loving, fun, and diverse group of first graders. They LOVE science. I'm trying to expand my classroom library with books about science and scientists. They LOVE to read anything about science that has to do with plants, weather, animals, and scientist. They will be very excited to get new books.
My Project
I am requesting science books for our classroom library. When I start a new topic in science I like to have books in my classroom library to have the students practice reading while they learn more about the topic.
When we are done with the class they go to the library get a book and sit on the carpet or their desk.
They can discuss and read in groups or independently. Sometimes students can answer random questions about any topics and they can show me in what book they read the answer in. They are always proud of what they learn.
