My students need a variety of books for our classroom library. They love to read and I want to foster that love every day with new and exciting books for them to choose.

My Students

Remember the first time you picked up a book and got lost in it? I love that feeling and I'd love my students to experience getting lost in a good book.

I have an incredible group of intelligent and curious fourth graders.

We come from a mostly middle class community where some have greater experiences than others. My students love to read. I want to give them every opportunity to satisfy that hunger to read and experience a good book.

My Project

I would love to be able to inspire my students to become lifelong learners who love to read for the simple joy of reading. I think these new chapter books in our class library is a great link in the chain to creating those kind of life learners. It will help them in their efforts today to better comprehend what they are reading. Together with learning strategies and writing opportunities that will utilize the books they read, I believe they will have the skills they will need far beyond my classroom.

My students will leave my room soon and go on to other teachers and other experiences.

These books are a step in the direction of building the firm foundation that my students will need to be successful no matter what they will encounter.
