This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My third grade students are all English learners who love learning. Our classroom creates ample space for independent, student led inquiry. This, of course, requires ample resources.
My students are dedicated and enthusiastic learners.
No matter what obstacles they encounter, they continue to make their best efforts each day.
Our Title 1 school values students' need for creative expression, resources to develop reading, writing, and reasoning skills. We deeply value providing students with consistent opportunities to explore a wide variety of text and then to discuss those texts in writing and conversation.
My Project
My students need high interest, leveled books to foster their love of reading and build their comprehension and fluency. Students will use these books for independent reading and to support their research into specific topics. Students will have the opportunity to check out books to read at home or to read during our silent reading periods. They will learn that reading opens the window to countless new worlds and ideas.

This year I am building my first self-contained third grade classroom from scratch. As a result, I do not have much of a library. With your help, I can put together a classroom library that my students can use and enjoy on a daily basis.
