My students need bookshelves for organizing materials, area rugs for extra seating space, and chairs for flexible seating to continue our journey with flexible seating.

My students are compassionate.
They are bright and full of promise. I am fortunate to be their teacher. They have a love for learning that puts a smile on my face and I continue to have more love for them every day. Within the four walls of our classroom, and within the walls of our school, we work together to build a community where everyone can do their best.
My Project
All children grasp concepts in many ways. So why not LEARN in different places and ways, too? As long as my student's postures and movements do not disrupt others’ learning and comfort, they are literally allowed to choose any number of places to land in our classroom. Right now my students have the few choices of: sitting on the floor; carpeted or tile, or an easy chair. The materials I am requesting will allow my children to have more choices of where they plant and learn the concepts taught in our classroom. I am requesting an extra area rug, to give more students the freedom to sit or lay on another area rug. The different chairs I am requesting will allow my students to sit comfortably while working independently or collaborating with a friend. The bookshelves will allow my students to place their materials away and allow for independence.
Sitting still is overrated!
They need to be given choices and they need to take ownership in their learning. A flexible seating classroom meets all of these needs. My students are responsible for finding what feels best for them and what kind of seating will make them the best learner that they can be.
