My Students

My class is composed of 16 adorable, creative children. I am so blessed to see their inquisitive little minds at work daily. Our classroom is full of energy & innovation. I hope to give each and every one of my students a loving, safe environment to learn!

I teach 2nd grade at a Title I school in Texas, where we are still recovering for the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey.

These students lived through a rough 1st grade year due to the Hurricane in 2017. However, my students are resilient & eager to learn. Many of these children lost everything in the storm, are still displaced, & unfortunately lacking basic necessities, but they show up every morning trying their best to smile. My students are survivors & they deserve the best.

My Project

This past year was a huge challenge to try and "get back" some of the time that the hurricane took. I am always planning ahead, so I want to get a head start on making our learning centers! This additional paper, laminating supplies and Velcro dots will help me continue to create additional hands-on learning centers to help my children become successful.

I believe in teaching though hands-on learning and these materials will help me create learning centers more effectively and easier than ever before.

I am excited to begin the new school year and to be able to serve my community with the help of donors like you!
