Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are full of energy and curiosity! They are five and six year olds who come to school excited to learn. I try to make learning fun and engaging as they learn through play. For some of my students kindergarten is their first school experience which means that they come with different skills and abilities.
I believe that every child can learn at their own developmental pace.
My goal as their teacher is to provide engaging and challenging learning experiences in a positive and safe environment.
My Project
I'm inspired by my students, it's almost the end of the school year and they LOVE to read! It has been such a rewarding year to see how much they have grown. It's not easy getting children to read but to love to read that's even harder. Giving them books that are funny and engaging motivates them to read. They LOVE Elephant & Piggie books because they are funny and easy to read.
When they read they are building their confidence and fluency.
I'm requesting the Elephant & Piggie book collection because my students can't get enough of these books. They will read them in school and also be able to take them home. These books are about feelings, making friends, taking turns, and other topics that my students can relate to. They will be so excited to have many more titles.
