Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is planned for my second-grade class. My students this year are so happy to be back in class. We have been working on many activities this year and catching up on lost time.
Our students are working hard this year and deserve the best.
My Project
I don't think I have said this enough, but my second graders love science. I guess it's because I do too, and I am so passionate when I teach it. This year we are learning about the life cycles of plants and animals as well as dinosaurs. I use visuals and videos for my lessons. The students enjoy the lessons and the activities.
Having the models of the life cycles and the other hands-on manipulatives will give my students a more realistic experience.
With the butterfly garden, students will enjoy and learn experiencing the butterfly life cycle right before their eyes. My goal is to release the butterflies in spring and make this a memorable experience for my students.
