My students need books and activities to be able to gain reading skills. These tools will help me to reach each child on their individual reading level.

My Students

My first grade students are part of an integrated classroom that celebrates all of their special needs, gifts and talents. As a class, they come together from many different cultures, languages and abilities. They all work hard and love to be challenged. However, sometimes they need help meeting these challenges with all of their unique needs.

Every child can succeed...sometimes they just need different tools to help them on their journey!

My classroom is a happy place where all students believe that they are able to succeed and that they are supported both in and out of school. School is a place where we work hard and persevere through challenges. We work in large groups, small groups and partnerships throughout the day.

My Project

In my classroom, we love books and reading! First grade is the time when children reinforce their love for reading and writing. They are so excited when they learn new skills. These books and activities will help the students progress through reading levels. They will help me meet the students at their levels, as well as making their instructional reading time fun and exciting!

These different types of reading tools will help me challenge my students at all reading levels.

These tools will assist in individual work, partner work and small group work. We will utilize these during reading and writing workshop, as well as during our science unit on animals. These different types of instruction and practice will assist in reaching all students. Please help us reach our reading goals to become better readers!!
