We Love Reading! Help Build a Diverse Classroom Library!

Help me give my students a library with books that encourage a love of reading! My students deserve a diverse range of books that not only reflect themselves, but their surrounding communities as well.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Solanki's classroom raised $755

This project is fully funded

My Students

Our community has a very diverse set of learners and I want my classroom to reflect this. My students are eager to learn and with the necessary supports, quickly accumulate knowledge and critical thinking skills. We will spend our days throughout the year working through rigorous reading, writing, and math problems. We also will not allow this to diminish our interpersonal learnings and commitments to bettering ourselves while building deep relationships.

As a first-year elementary teacher, I am working towards building a comprehensive classroom space that will benefit my students and support all their social, emotional, and academic needs.

My Project

My classroom library is an important part of my students' development of reading. As I build our classroom library, I want to center on getting a diverse set of books that reflect my students' interests and help them grow a love of reading. By having a range of different reading levels and books that reflect the backgrounds of my students, I can ensure that they will get excited to come to school and read every day. More importantly, they will feel excited and successful in reading.

The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding and fluency in reading, while providing literature that sparks their interests and makes reading exciting!

The addition of these books to our classroom library will allow students to progress through Reader's Workshop lessons feeling like true readers and increase their reading fluency with books that truly interest them and reflect their own lives.
