My Students

My students have big personalities! There is a huge mix of diversity in my classroom, including students coming from all-day kinder and 1/2 day kinder, first generation Americans, and ESL.

The one thing they all have in common is that they are achievers!

There are a lot of academic expectations in first grade, and my students do not have a lot of access to items that may help them succeed, however this does not deter them - they all have a growth mindset!

My Project

Magic Tree House books take my students on amazing adventures. We read them as a class, and they can't get enough. They want to read them independently as well.

My students love reading Magic Tree House books.

However, my classroom only has a few very worn copies of this series, and the library usually has many of the Magic Tree House books already checked out. Having the complete Magic Tree House series would allow my students to enjoy whole group reading, as well as giving them access to other MTH books.

Having a standing desk would help the students feel confident as they present their book reports to the class, as well as having a place to organize their work.
