My Students

My students love to read! On a daily basis my students can read by themselves, read with me, read aloud, and read to their partners. It is during these times they show their love of reading. Our school is in a rural area and has a high poverty level. With decreasing funding for education, it is becoming harder and harder to provide students with the supplies they need and deserve, especially the additional tools that keep them organized!

I have 20 enthusiastic, kind, and caring students who come ready to learn each and every day to our second grade classroom!

This coming school year we are going to be implementing a new reading resource that allows students to work at their individual reading level. They will work with me several times a week in small groups as well as work with their peers and in small partner groups to increase their reading levels. Organizational tools such as reading bins, baskets, and caddies will help house the everyday supplies needed to engage active learners.

My Project

New reading bins, reading baskets, and caddies will enable my students to stay organized as they work on their reading in small groups, as well as, individually and in whole groups. As students work on their reading, they will be able to gather and utilize the materials as they need them.

Organizing our new student resources with book bins, baskets, and caddies will put huge smiles on each of my students' faces as well as touch their hearts by making our reading experience much easier and organized!
