Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are eager to please, energetic, and need lots of individual attention. Unfortunately, I have a lot of non readers in second grade. I am in the process of forming reading workshop groups to meet my students educational and emotional needs in order for them to feel confident as readers.

I would like to offer my students a safe and loving learning environment with the tools needed in order to become successful life long readers.

My students come from primary low income households with little on no parent involvement.

My Project

These materials will make my reading workshop groups run more smoothly. I will be able to meet my students academic and emotional needs to promote reading success. It is important to me that my students become confident life long readers.

We do a lot of small group learning and the carpet space will provide a comfortable learning environment.

The semi- circle table will allow me to meet with students in small groups in a cooperative space. The clipboards will be used while students are learning on the carpet to hold their materials. These materials would greatly benefit my students in literacy.
