This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our sixth grade students absolutely LOVE math! They cheer when we solve problems, and always ask for extra homework. All of these students deserve to have the materials they need to be constantly challenged. In a world in which technology is so prominent, we need more resources!

We have a diverse student body, with heavy emphasis on Latino students.

We are a public in the middle of Boston, where students are bused in from all parts of the city. There are 34 sixth graders and most of them have been here since kindergarten!

My Project

Students have math stations for 30 minutes daily. One of these stations will be allotted to Chromebooks, where students will log on to use online math software and resources to advance their computation and problem solving skills. The specific online tool I use track data, and give me summarized data on a weekly basis so I can adjust my instruction based on what they need help with! My students need 4 Chromebooks, and two sets of headphones for our math station.

This project will make a difference in that our students will have an opportunity to work with technology exclusively in the classroom!

Math can be so much more engaging, and helpful when you are on a specialized program, geared to your strengths and weaknesses.
