Celebrate Black Teachers and Students
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Low-income. Homeless. High poverty. These are words that people often use to describe our scholars. However, the words people should concentrate on are high achievers, determined learners, and creative thinkers.
We are scholars who have a hunger to learn, a passion for knowledge, and a need to succeed. We are looking to expand our critical-thinking skills, explore our creativity, and develop our talents for twenty-first-century learning. We are looking to develop our gifts and talents and need your help to do so.
My Project
Read. Read. Read. My scholars read everyday and love to read. Unfortunately I do not always have the books they desire. My scholars have requested books that I do not have. I want to get them these books so they are excited about reading and enjoy their reading time.
They yearn to read about Pokemon, Elephant and Piggie, Pete the Cat, and The Princess in Black. In order to help reading be more engaging and exciting I want to provide my scholars with the books they want to read.
