My students need books to add to our classroom library to keep their love of reading growing! Our titles include National Geographic non-fiction readers on topics such as lions, bunnies, polar bears and more, and books from the Junie B. Jones, Amelia Bedelia, and Ramona series.
I teach first grade and want to instill the love of reading and literature to my students. We do so many fun read alouds and most of them followed by a writing activity. The students are so excited to learn to read and write.
My students have shown their excitement by creating their own books.
They want to be authors and illustrators! Our time spent reading is so important to me, I love making it fun for the students! We have a classroom library where students have access to books to keep in their book boxes to read and then take accelerated reader quizzes to check for comprehension. They are highly motivated at this age and I would love for our classroom to have more books!
My Project
My first grade students are becoming great readers! I only want to see the love of reading and eagerness to learn to grow in each and every one of them!
We need books to add to our classroom library to keep their love of reading growing!
Our titles include National Geographic non-fiction readers on topics such as lions, bunnies, polar bears and more, and books from the Junie B. Jones, Amelia Bedelia, and Ramona series. Our classroom library will be beneficial to all the students. All levels of readers are able to find something to read. The variety of genres, titles and levels are offered. I am hoping to reach all of my students and offer a great range for them to choose from.
The progress that each child shows form August to May is amazing! Books is a huge part of their academic growth!
