I teach first grade at a wonderful public school in Brooklyn. I would like to create a listening center for my students as well as those students in the other first grade classes. It's so important for them to hear stories read and book language. This helps them to develop fluency and in turn build comprehension. We want them to enjoy books and be lifelong readers. We already have the tape player and the headphones in each classroom, but they cannot be utilized by our children without the books and tapes. I'm asking for sets of books that include 4 copies of each title and a cassette. They include a variety of levels, genres, and multicultural characters. You would be making such a difference in our students' lives. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
