Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first grade students are enthusiastic and eager to learn. They spend their day engaged in hands-on learning experiences. My students are given opportunities to develop their social skills as well as their academic skills.

As a classroom we work together in order to learn.

My students are a diverse group of learners that work together and encourage everyone to try their best.

We learn through play, music, partnerships, groups, literature, dance, and hands-on experiences. We have fun while learning!

My Project

My first graders are a diverse group of students that are eager to learn to read, write, add, subtract, and be respectful citizens. My students are curious about many things they see and that makes for wonderful conversations and discussions. This year we have students that need more time to complete learning tasks. My students are helpful to those students that are not able to work on their own.

Being able to learn of accepting differences of others, makes them respectful and responsible citizens.

Learning about helping others while listening to stories of kids like themselves in books like Same, Same but Different, Julian is a Mermaid, and Noah Chases the Wind will only develop their sense of self and value the feelings of others.

Being able to see themselves in stories will encourage them to paint themselves and create personal narratives that will unleash the writer inside.
