My Project

Fewer children ride bicycles now than when I was young. My project will help young children gain confidence in their riding skills, and allow for exercise with a purpose, to get from here to there

My students are 4 and 5 years old and are constantly exploring the world around them.

In my classroom, we learn how to stay healthy with good nutrition, personal hygiene and two long recesses per day. One of them is on a blacktop, with a small ramp, but we only have 4 riding toys for 23 students.

Although this provides ample opportunity to learn sharing and taking turns, it doesn't allow everyone to benefit from the exercise and gross motor skill development, such as balance, simply because we don't have enough riding toys.
