Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

As a teacher in a low income, high poverty school, I see that my students have many challenges in and outside of the classroom. Because of these challenges, I try to make school a fun and safe learning environment for them.

These students have so much potential, but do not always have access to the tools needed.

Since most of my students come from single parent households they do not get the support they need at home. With your help and support these needs could be met.

My Project

Flexible seating will allow my students to be able to move while learning! Research shows that flexible seating increases motivation and engagement. By using these wobble stools and wobble cushions instead of and in addition to chairs, my students will be able to better focus on the task at hand!

These wobble cushions and stools will assist students in channeling their energy into their learning!

This project will give my students more options to get cozy and comfortable in the classroom, enabling them to learn better. Having seats that allow students to move around will also cut down on behavioral problems that interrupt learning. We as adults learn and focus more when we are comfortable; our kids should also get this privilege!
