My Students

My kindergarten students are excited about learning and love to create new things. Walk into my classroom on any given day and you will find us learning through music, movement, collaborative groups and play.

My students come from many different backgrounds, and come to school with a wide variety of life experiences, but they are all bright, inquisitive, and eager to learn students.

I provide many experiences for learning in different ways, and I want to be able to foster their imaginations by providing them with more hands-on learning experiences.

My Project

My students are young learners who need to actively move through unstructured outside play time in order to increase focus within the classroom learning environment. Our school provides a playground with a jungle gym and slides area for our students. What's missing are materials that promote game playing and an introduction to sports as games.

The materials requested support necessary gross motor development in addition to facilitating social interactions and rules for play which are critical skills for young learners.

Our students need many opportunities to practice sharing, confidence building, taking turns and cooperation. These supplies (basketball hoops, balls, parachute and sand toys) will enable my students to enjoy outside games as they build on physical and social skills.
