My Students
This year I have the opportunity to work with the most amazing fourth graders. Each day my students come to my classroom ready to learn new skills and try their very best. We are a school that celebrates and supports inclusion, so I am lucky enough to work with students that are bright, funny, spirited, and have different goals, interests, and abilities.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, our school is currently practicing social-distancing and limiting the sharing of materials, games, and supplies.
To help keep my kids active and healthy during recess I want to give them as much choice as possible with a variety of outdoor games and activities. It is my hope to foster my love of fitness and athletics in my classroom, and give my students the opportunity to keep active to support their mental and physical well-being.

My Project
Recess time at schools across the nation has become a time where our students are not allowed to play on all of the playground equipment to release their energy due to mandated social-distancing guidelines. Students need a safe way to take a break to move their bodies at recess so they can come back refreshed and focused.
The athletic equipment being requested will help my students keep active in athletics and play in a safe, socially distanced manner.
Recess games help students be less fidgety and more on task when they return to class, aid students in improved memory and more focused attention, help children develop hand-eye coordination, gross, and fine motor development, and helps students learn skills in negotiation, leadership, taking turns, and conflict resolution.
