I work in a rural location with 16 or more students. We call ourselves the Peacekeepers, as this is a nice reminder of how to play well together and be friendly peer. We enjoy playing inside and outside and my students are always ready to learn and explore in their natural environment. Some of the best loved activities of the day is their outside play in the rain. There are always numerous children playing and exploring in the mud and puddles during this time. This, of course, makes them wet and cold, necessitating lots of clothing changes which we would like to reduce, by the addition of the one piece rain suits.
My Project
We are like the letter carriers, we go out daily in sun, rain and snow. Out there we study the natural world, make our own games, and extend our physical strength, stamina and balance when exploring the play field.
We are in need of rain suits to supplement our full closet of rain boots.
When we explore in the rain we get very wet and rain coats won't do. Sometimes we even lay down in the puddles after flying through them, which requires a big clothing changes when we come inside. In addition, some children need to keep their clothes clean and aren't free to explore.
One of our students has a one piece rain suit and I was so impressed by it, I wanted them for everyone. Please help us eliminate frequent clothing changes and allow everyone to learn outside by helping us buy some full body rain suits!
