Help me give my students the various learning tools such as headphones, dry erase lapboards, and digiital learning resources they need as we journey through virtual learning at home!
I have the wonderful opportunity of looping with my first graders from last year into second grade together! My students are a diverse group of children who are enthusiastic, intelligent, and curious. During this uncertain time, it is crucial that I set my students up for success with the necessary learning materials they will need while they are remotely learning at home.
My second graders are eager to explore, create, and learn, regardless of if they are in our classroom or at home and deserve to have the tools they need to maintain their love for learning.
Considering our remote learning situation, I want to provide my students with as many resources as possible to be successful in learning at home.
My Project
As my students and I enter new territory in the learning world, I want my second graders to have access to the tools they need to feel focused, prepared, and comfortable while remotely learning.
I want to prepare my students with the essential tools for a new learning experience that will require much patience and attention.
Providing a pair of headphones to each of my students will help them maintain concentration on each task with minimal distractions. Headphones will be a learning tool that are necessary for almost the entire virtual school day and will be used for all subjects. Each of my students will also need to use a whiteboard for work during our instruction. We use whiteboards for everything from working through steps in a math problem to practicing different phonics/spelling patterns in words. Students will need to continue to practice their organizational skills at home. The large plastic containers will serve this exact purpose, as they will store all daily supplies in one place.
While virtually teaching, my students will need me to be on my A-game--at its finest! In order to help me with the delivery of my virtual instruction, I will use a laptop stand that is adjustable for different types of lessons, as well as a device stand holder and a microphone that will allow me to use multiple devices at once with a clear voice for modeling and demonstrating various skills, directions, student work, and much more! I would also like to expand the digital resources for my second graders through the Teachers Pay Teachers online educational platform.
