Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are highly motivated and are active participants in their learning. They love expanding their knowledge and trying new things. We want to master our math fundamentals and make sure we are prepared for sixth grade. My biggest challenge is giving access to more math at the students' level.
My students are fun and loving.
They are motivated to learn and expand their thinking in the world of math. They come from many backgrounds and with different perspectives. They have great smiles and come to class every day ready to be taught.
Our classroom is filled with students that are on all different levels of knowledge. Each student is unique and requires a different way to learn and express what they have been taught.
Our school is filled with a great staff and students. It is in a great little neighborhood and has been a staple of the community for 35 years. The staff loves teaching here and some have been here for decades. The students and parents love coming to school and participate every day to try and improve our school.
My Project
My students will use the materials in small groups and for differentiated instruction. We will use it to strengthen our background knowledge and fill in the gaps that we are missing. We will use Khan Academy to give students the ability to test their skills and see their learning. With the 9 Chromebooks, students will be able to do math at their level and it will increase their confidence to tackle problems in the class.
Students love using technology when it is available and become highly motivated to challenge themselves.
These donations will change my classroom because it will give access to a 21st century tool on a regular basis to enrich their learning and deepen their understanding.
It will help with the need to differentiate instruction for students to make sure every student receives the best education possible.
