Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my class are a wonderful group of 5th graders that are in need of using technology in a positive interactive way. Many students lack the confidence and interaction with each other because both parents are working and there isn't much time for peer communication.

Our voices will be heard!!!

Students not only fear speaking up but in my classroom, there is a constant competition with a window air conditioning unit. We can rarely turn it off because with 32 adolescences, it gets stuffy real quick.

This age group has been particularly more difficult to keep entertained while learning. I use any means necessary to help them want to participate and stay focused in the daily lesson.

My Project

Students will get to take turns by tossing the Q ball to one another and then speak into the ball so their voice is projected. They will also be able to refine the motor skills by catching and tossing the ball. They will be eager to participate. Students struggle staying focused and this will be a great tool to keep their attention. By having two different colors, students can collaborate and interact with one another. They can speak softly into the ball but the sound can be heard by all. This will allow their confidence to grow and start feeling better about projecting their voice.
