My students love to be creative and loves to get tokens for great work. "If you wanna be somebody, and you wanna go somewhere, you better wait up and pay attention" is a quote from Sister Act 2 that I recite to my students every year. They love to hear the quote, and they try do the right things.
I teach seventh grade Integrated Science that includes atmosphere, human biology, cells and heredity, and motion and forces.
I teach at a very high-need, Title One school in North Carolina. Many of my students want to learn, but they have many different obstacles that they face on a daily basis. Many of my students come from homes where finances are very low or parent participation in not at its highest. Class supplies, or hearing how great they are should not be obstacles that a child faces when it comes to learning.
My Project
Students do better when they get tangible incentives for doing good. Students are supposed to always do their best, but sometimes students do better when they know they are appreciated for all the greatness that they give. My students are motivated by praise and love to be creative in their learning process. The resources that I am requesting will help my students do better academically and be motivated at the same time. The items that I am requesting will help students with learning how the atmosphere is the basis for living, by using ultraviolet beads as a way of show how the sun provides energy and light. I am also requesting paper, folders, index cards, and other motivational items to show my students that I am proud of the learning process that they contribute each day. Many of my students do not get a lot of support from home to purchase school supplies or to boost academic self-esteem, so we have to build that self-esteem at school. I want them to know they are appreciated.
Your donation will brighten the lives of many students at my school.
Just to see the smile on their face to receive a pencil stating' "You Can," or "I caught you doing good," will make a student want to stride for greatness. Using hand-on learning with simple items such as ultraviolet beads will make a students smile and want to move forward to the next lesson objective. Your donation will make a great impact on student academic and behavioral achievement.
