Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Halfway through the year, my students are trying their hardest and hitting their stride, but they need some basic supplies to get our class through the year!
My students are exceptional.
Each day they come to school from a wide variety of home settings: Many of my students speak another language at home. Many of their families struggle to support them with basic supplies. Many of them have learning needs that make school difficult. Despite this, my students show up every day, ready to learn; together, they make up a community that I am glad to be a part of. My school embraces these students, giving them a safe and stimulating environment to learn in, but cannot always provide the necessary resources to give them they high quality educational experience they need and deserve.
My Project
With the materials listed in this project, my students will be able to have engaging class activities every day. With the dry erase markers and erasers, they can share their work with their classmates on dry erase boards that we have. They will use permanent markers for making posters to share their learning with the school. Post-its, a label maker, hand sanitizer and wipes will keep our classroom organized, clean, and tidy (something I believe is essential for academic and emotional growth.) Card-stock will be used in daily learning experiences and to create math manipulatives.
The materials in this project will transform out classroom.
They will make my students more successful and more comfortable in our classroom for the rest of the year. The donations to this project will give us basic supplies that make learning possible.
