This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a rural public school in Northern California which serves a diverse population of children. My Kindergarten class is filled with 24 energetic, curious, and eager students, ready to begin their academic adventures and experience learning to it's fullest. Many come from backgrounds where exploring technology has not been a possibility or priority. Often, their first opportunity to experience and engage in an educational technological experience is in a classroom setting. I would love to be able to provide the opportunity and materials for my students to be able to prepare for 21st century learning .

My Project

My students love learning through technology and I love giving them the opportunity to be better prepared for the technological world and school experiences of the future. We have been fortunate enough to receive several chrome books and ipads through past Donors Choose projects but keeping them charged and ready to go has been a challenge.

We need a charging station that utilizes our limited space and electrical outlets for both the ipads and Chromebooks.

This universal charging station meets the needs for both technologies and will give us the ability to have both fully charged and ready for use each and every day.I am also requesting new headphones of a more durable quality that will withstand the the daily use by kindergartners.
