Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I service 56 preschool through 5th grade students with speech and/or language delays in a very caring and loving public elementary school. Communication is an important aspect in every child's life while learning and having the ability to communicate with family members, teachers, and peers. My students experience delays in one or more of the following areas which challenges their reading and language development: articulation, language delays, stuttering, and phonological disorders. These special students need high quality manipulatives, lessons, and books applicable to all of these grade levels for improved phonological awareness and processing, receptive and language development, articulation, and stuttering. This enhances their learning and provides a wider variety of tools to reach their developmental goals with efficiency and efficacy. It is very rewarding to experience with a child his or her accomplishment in achieving the ability to communicate clearly for the first time or decode words with understanding and excitement. The joy, smiles, and self-confidence emanating from their faces makes it all worthwhile.
