it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are hardworking and love to learn! I absolutely love them and want to give them the best education that they so deserve! Due to Covid, my students NEED to be able to access Distance Learning at home, yet our school doesn't receive any Title 1 funds or extra funds to teach them how to access their Distance Learning at school. In fact, my class has only ONE computer in at and absolutely no computers for the students students. Many of my students don't have computers or laptops at home and students come to my class with a very wide range of knowledge, skills, and socioeconomic backgrounds. We desperately need computers in the classroom. Many other nearby schools are one-to-one technology schools and each of their students have their computers supplied by the school. My students are at an unfair advantage when they'll go to middle school with other technology-savvy students. Please help my students have a chance at technology!
My Project
Students need these computers so they can effectively learn how access Distance Learning when they're excluded for Covid. The programs I've added to each of my students' Clever Distance Learning accounts are: Benchmark Advance ELA, Envisions Mathematics, Discovery Science, Dreambox Mathematics, Type-to-Learn, and Epic Reading. All of these programs are aligned with my 3rd Grade Common Core and District standards. Our district and my class use these programs daily; therefore, when students are at home due to Covid for Distance Learning, they will be able to continue their learning without being negatively affected by Covid-19. Even if their parents have Covid, they'll still be able to access their learning without parental help because I'll be able to teach them how to access it in the classroom. Covid has presented a huge challenge for my students in the past and their learning has been negatively affected. As their teacher, it breaks my heart that our school is so underfunded for technology.
