My Students

I teach some amazing students every year, but my group this year is extra special. They are the first group of students back in school full time since the pandemic started. All children love receiving things that they can do with their hands. While I always give my students wonderful hands-on activities, I have noticed that when I pull out any activities that require paints, crayons, glue sticks, blocks, or any kind of art supply, they are mesmerized.

Many children spent the past year or so in virtual classrooms or no class at all, and doing paper-pencil work is a challenge.

Being able to take breaks and be creative has been a lifesaver this year. Please help me to provide my students with more hands-on materials to boost their creativity and enable them to relax and use their hands at the same time.

My Project

Being a kindergartner is hard work. For many students, this is their first experience with school. There is a lot of pressure on them to grow up quickly and complete school work. Sometimes, they just need a break! I have recently purchased a small set of Magna-Tiles for students to use during break times or indoor recess. They can’t get enough of them! I have been blown away by their concentration and imaginations. I would love to have more of them so that more children can use them. It has also been fun to tie in some of the geometry knowledge we have acquired in math. These will help provide many hours of fun!
