This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is an inner-city, Title I school. The majority of our students come from low-income homes. We also house students from four different shelters. Many come to school without the necessary materials. Most of our students are Hispanic and come from other countries not knowing the English language.
98% of our students are on free or reduced lunch.
They struggle to keep pace with the everyday rigors because they lack the necessary resources to keep them on pace. I don't want them to be hindered by the lack of resources.
My Project
In my classroom, the use of technology is an everyday occurrence. We use technology to access different instructional resources, like Iready, GO Math and ABC Mouse. For an entire class to have access to technology is not an easy task, and with the lack of computers it makes it even harder.
These Chromebooks and iPad with case, will allow me to continue my daily activities by allowing the new students to be able to have the access they need without taking access away from other students.
As my students enter my room, access to technology will be readily available for them.
