My Students

Our students come from a growing community in suburban, southern NH. Currently, our school system has the elementary grades divided among two schools, a seventh/eighth-grade middle school and a nine to twelve high school.

Our students have probably attended school with the same friends since kindergarten unless they have moved into the district and our district is growing!

However, because of the diverse careers found in our area, our students come from a wide variety of hands-on technology backgrounds. This is both challenging and exciting when teaching our new Tech Ed program!

My Project

Our robotics teams have been using the Lego EV3 Robotic kits for several years. Lego has recently released the Spike Prime Robotic kit that makes programming simpler for students by drawing on common coding programs. It is my hope to reach students in my Tech Ed program as well with this new format.

Coding is very exciting for students who might not succeed in the "book learning" portion of the normal education day.

But combine that with robots and you have the SPARK to inspire future engineers! STEM careers are ignited in middle school when opportunities like this are given to students.
