My students need a bookshelf to organize chapter books so they can easily access them and a pleasant, soothing rug to read those books on.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Author J.A. Langford once said, "No possession can surpass, or even equal, a good library to the lover of books." With a new bookshelf and an inviting reading rug, every student in room 14 will become a lover of books!
Dr. Seuss captured the significance of reading when he said, "The more that you read, the more things you will know.
The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." Reading is the skill that is going to open up a world of opportunities for my students. My students come from many different places because our school is a magnet school. Many of my students are from low-socioeconomic areas and don't have access to literature that will foster a love of reading. Reading is so essential to my students' success. A few upgrades to our classroom library will encourage my students to pick up great books and develop a love of reading. With a simple bookshelf to display our chapter books and an inviting library rug, my students will love diving into good books (and increase their reading skills at the same time).
My Project
Our classroom's bookshelves are pretty old and rundown. With a new, five-shelf bookcase, my students will be able to browse books with ease at their eye level. That's important in capturing a child's interest in reading. Also, the beautiful, tropical-themed rug will create an environment that encourages my students to grab a book, relax, and read. The more my students read, the better readers they will be. The skill of reading is so essential to their success in life!
Groucho Marx summed up the significance of reading when he said, "I find television to be very educating.
Every time somebody turns on the set, I go in the other room and read a book." I want my students to truly love reading so much so that they would rather pick up a book than watch TV. The more my students are encouraged to read in the classroom, the more chance this become a reality at home. We truly appreciate your support and are grateful for your contribution to our classroom library.
