This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a new educator I want to prepare my students with a few basic school supplies that are needed for everyday instruction. We are in need of pencils, index cards, dry erase markers, highlighters and markers. With the new curriculum rigor, we do not have any time to spare and are constantly learning. If my students need a pencil, I want to be able to reach and grab a pencil without having to search or scurry to sharpen one. Providing students with high-quality classroom supplies they can use now and into the future emphasizes the importance of their success.
Usually, we request classroom supplies from our parents, however this year we have not received any school supplies from them.
My school enrolls economically disadvantaged students that cannot afford classroom supplies for the school year. I do not want my students or parents worrying about any other extra expenses this school year.
With the upcoming FLU season, I want to be able to provide a safe and sanitary space for my students. I am requesting basic PPE and disinfecting supplies. We cannot afford to miss any instruction days. The new curriculum rigor requires perfect attendance in order for the students to SUCCEED this school year.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
