This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We want to play! My students play on the concrete of an old industrial building. P.E. classes take place on the heat of the concrete with minimal equipment. The students need exposure to a variety of sports and fitness activities. Please help them stay fit!

Three hundred and thirty four very unique individuals make up the study body at our small charter school.

These students liven up the atmosphere with their funny anecdotes, witty remarks, and Spanish catch phrases. Our school is located in a high-need area of urban California where personal fitness centers are hard to come by. However, these students work hard everyday in order to make their dreams of college success come true. The educational environment holds students to high expectations, but wishes to reward them for the hard work they put in.

My Project

Exposing students to the joys of personal fitness is essential. Our country is facing an obesity epidemic, yet the government continues to cut money from physical education. I believe that physical education is crucial to educating the whole child. I encourage student leadership, teamwork, and positive attitudes.

Exposing students to a wide variety of sports and personal fitness programs is essential for success.

Studies show that strong athletic programs contribute to every aspect of student success. The addition of team pinnies, hockey equipment and a portable chin-up bar will help these students to achieve in all areas of their lives.
