My Students

My class represents a diverse population of learners and I strive to create a student centered environment to reach each and every child. I encourage students to be directly involved and invested in their own learning. Activities are designed to promote collaboration and cooperation among peers.

My students are excited to come to school and I strive to have a classroom where my students feel safe, valued and successful.

Our large rural district covers nearly 144 square miles and our students represent all levels of socio-economical class. All students receive free breakfast and many receive free or reduced lunch. During the 8 hours they spend with me each day, I aim to level the playing field and afford each and every student the same opportunity to reach their potential.

My Project

Our school is lucky enough to have a Messy Lab that is dedicated to hands-on learning through STEM, STEAM and Makerspace activities. The LEGO Education WeDo 2.0 curriculum pack supports 21st century learning by reinforcing student understanding through investigation and design of these science concepts: physical, earth and space. Students will be able to bring their LEGO creations to life by programming.

Innovation is the key to the future.

Incorporating skills such as computer programming, coding and engineering into 4th grade science will help prepare students for their future endeavors by encouraging complex patterning skills, logical reasoning, 3D modeling and a collaboration of peers.
