My project needs various books about Colonial Times in America such as Life in New Amsterdam and Food in Colonial America.

This project is fully funded

I am a fourth grade teacher in a title one school within the city of New York. Most of my students are immigrants or first generation Americans. Though each of my students is extremely different from their classmate sitting next to them, they all share a desire to learn and have a passion for school.

As a fourth grade teacher I spend most of the school year preparing my students for their yearly promotional exams. Due to the stress and importance of these exams there are some subjects that get removed from our daily schedule to make way for various exam preparation periods.

To avoid this problem our school is encouraging the teachers to develop interdisciplinary units around various social studies topics. One of those topics for the fourth grade is Colonial America. I am asking for various books to help me implement this unit for my students this year and in years to come.

If you are able to help out our class by donating these books to us you will be teaching my students the biggest lesson of all. You will be teaching them the importance of thinking of others. Please be the person who teaches my class the importance of generosity.
