My Project
This project provides our youngest learners with movement-based learning. The platform swing will serve a dual purpose. First the swinging motion will provide the vestibular input so many students crave. Second, the large surface area enables students the ability to assume a variety of positions in which to complete many tasks. They can practice pre-writing activities; they can stack blocks; they can experiment with speed and velocity as they complete puzzles and other fine motor tasks.
The hanging ladder helps our future firefighters develop their motor planning skills.
It also strengthens their grip strength and helps them refine their coordination--climbing ladders requires coordination between the eyes, hands, arms, legs and feet.
