My students are the future leaders of our community and are eager to make their place in our world. They are naturally inquisitive. With each passing day, my students are more and more excited to learn something new. They are hard-working and intelligent and deserve to have the very best learning opportunities and materials. They are thinkers, problem solvers, inventors, and the creative minds behind so many unique projects and ideas that require up-to-date resources and technology.
My students come from many different backgrounds and experiences.
Being in a Title I high needs school has never stopped my students from walking in the classroom door with a willingness to learn. The diverse population of students offers a space to teach and learn about acceptance and understanding.
My Project
Our classroom is made up of students of all different walks of life. We come from different places and have seen different things. This diversity kit will help facilitate discussion about these differences and open up other cultures to students who may have never experienced them before. This kit comes with books and posters about disabilities, other cultures, and much more to help us explore this topic and become more aware of the world around us. There are also many materials included to create projects about these cultures and dolls that will be a visual representation that we do not all have to fit into a certain mold to be valued member of our classroom community. It will be a good reminder to always make sure that we are focusing on acceptance and creating a group of students who are aware and ready to spread kindness!
