Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our baseball boys are some of the hardest-working kids I have coached. They always work hard in everything they do, whether it is workouts, practice, or their studies. After being cut short of their season last year, the boys this year are going to be challenged with the task of trying to stay healthy and safe from this virus while playing the game they love. With that being said, I am looking to equip our high school teams with one helmet per player. We normally have about 30-40 boys show up to play, so I am looking to get 40 helmets for the program so nobody shares a helmet during practice/games.
My Project
I am looking at the possibility of issuing each player in our baseball program their own helmet for the season. With these crazy times during this pandemic, it is challenging to keep all of our student-athletes safe and healthy. We do not want another season cut short, so we will do everything we can to remain on the field.
One way to help us stay healthy, we will not share helmets!
Instead of having a designated person spraying each and every helmet throughout the entire game, we would like to issue each player their own helmet to use for the season. We believe this is one way to help prevent the spread of any germs from player to player.
