This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are nearing the end of the school year and with that comes a lack of supplies and a surplus of testing. At this point in the school year, we do a lot of testing and test preparation on our computers which requires our students to use headphones. The headphones provided by the school at the beginning of the school year are very low quality and most of them have stopped functioning. I would love to be able to provide my students with quality headphones and storage options so that they can have a better chance of succeeding.

I teach a group of students learning English as their second language and having working headphones for the portion of the test that they can use text-to-speech can be a determining factor on whether they do well on these high-stakes state assessments.
