This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a special education teacher in an urban school. I work with kindergarten students who have learning differences and other neurological processing challenges (such as autism, attention deficits, sensory processing disorders, and executive function challenges). My kindergarten and first-grade students are full of joy, excitement, and an eagerness for learning.

Putting together puzzles promotes the development of many skills such as problem-solving skills, social skills, fine motor development, memory improvement, and many other skills necessary for early learning.

My students love the hands-on multi-sensory learning opportunities that floor puzzles provide. Whether I work with children individually, in pairs, or in small groups, they love the opportunity to choose engaging floor puzzles to complete. These wonderful floor puzzles will provide a much-needed resource for my kindergarten and first-grade students that can be used for years to come.
